The
International Music Course invites you to a captivating and intensive
music week in "Huize Bergen", Vught (NL) (www.huizebergen.nl).
Vught is located in the immediate vicinity of 's-Hertogenbosch.
These
pleasant and attractive facilities offer spacious classrooms, twin-bedded
rooms, a good restaurant, and large recreational facilities in the
immediate vicinity.
All
courses are held by internationally renowned teachers-musicians.
It is the intention to work very intensively during that week, with
a timetable of 6 hours a day, studying musicality, technique, performance
practice, chamber music, and stage presentation.

In
order to start this course week in a pleasant atmosphere, we invite
the participants as well as their parents and friends to an opening
concert on august 21st at 18:00 h, followed by a buffet meal.
For
a festive closing ceremony we have planned a final concert on August
28th, given by the participants themselves.

Chamber
Music:
- Level:
preparatory level for the music academy; music academy students
- The
teachers will choose chamber music compositions according to the
level of the participants. If you want to work on a chamber music
composition during this week, please mention this in the application
form.
- If
you are taking part as an ensemble/group, you can apply for a
teacher of your choice. This entitles the ensemble to at least
one hour of separate lessons, depending on the number of ensemble
members.
Getting
acquainted with the viola:
- Violinist's
level: higher degree, or final years of a music academy
- A
viola can be rented for this course. Please indicate this in the
application form.
Frequently
Asked Questions
Who
can take part in this course?
- The
course is -mainly- intended for individual students of Music Academies
and future music students from the ages of 14 and up. Existing
chamber music ensembles or duos can also take part.
What
music will be used during this week?
- Participants
are expected to bring their own sheet music of pieces they have
prepared at home. Please do not forget to bring the piano parts!
Can
I take part in the course with my trio / duo / ensemble?
- Yes,
you can. Please indicate this clearly while filling in the application
form. The organisation will do its utmost to attend to special
wishes.
Can
individual participants take part in ensemble-playing and chamber
music lessons?
- Yes.
Please indicate this clearly while completing the application
form. The organisation will do its best to fulfill special wishes.
After a small audition on day one, ensembles will be formed by
our teachers.
I
am a trumpet player / singer / organ player. Can I come?
- We
are very sorry, but no, you can't. For this year the programme
and roster are just for the instruments indicated at the top of
this page. If you would like to bring your church organ next year,
please send us an e-mail. We will see what we can do for you in
2010!

am a violin player, but I would really like to get an introduction
to playing the viola".
Or: "As a flute player, I would like to have an emphasis on
Baroque style playing. Is this possible?"
- Our
roster of highly qualified teachers allows us to fulfill almost
every special wish. Please indicate such special wishes on the
application form, and we will very likely be able to pay attention
to them.
